More people need to look at antiques as a hobby and a great gift idea besides an investments or a way to furnish a house. In other words, antiques could be a great, inexpensive hobby. I was recently in an antique shop void of furniture and art in which the average item price was probably less than $150.
Wine glasses make an excellent investment and can easily add luster to any tasting event. To get our current generation of children away from the computer, antique books can be a great way to do so. What a good feeling can arise from giving a grandchild a book that you have fond memories of reading when you were a child.
Online sites such as Ebay have hundreds of old holiday ornaments which can be great collector items and a collection could start with an investment as little as $50.
The most important thing to remember is that antiques don’t need to be expensive. Anyone can start an antique collection with as liitle as $50. Happy hunting !!!
